Yay! A photo that involves nothing moving - although I did attempt a couple of photos of Zimi from atop my kitchen bench but he wouldn't look at me long enough to focus on him. I also tried some that turned out to be very boring: a cup, saucer and plate, my kettle and the inside of the piano. After looking at them I decided I wanted something really bright and cheery.
I've been thinking about tethered shooting a bit lately. That's when the camera is hooked up to the computer and you can see the results of the shot pretty much straight away. The main reason I had been thinking about this was for the food photography I've been doing. All too often I've taken photos, had dinner and then checked the photos on the computer. More often than not I wasn't happy with the shots, but couldn't go back and redo - well, not without having to make the meal again. (Baking nice things to eat is totally different!) So I thought that I would give that a try with today's prompt. Of course that meant doing a google search to find out how one does that. Turns out to be remarkably straight forward.
Back to the prompt. I grabbed a handful of coloured pencils, popped them in a glass container and put them on the floor. I tried a few shots with the standard lens but ended up going back to the macro as it just seemed that bit sharper. I've used a piece of white shelving to give the clean, crisp background. Because of the low light, and wide aperture I had a high shutter speed, so I've applied some noise reduction to smooth out the photo.
And that's it for today. Off to have dinner. Have a wonderful tomorrow!
